Houses in Vedic Astrology
Houses show where something is happening in life: body, money, siblings, home, creativity, health, relationships, transformation, dharma, career, gains, and liberation.

How Houses Work
A house is not just a topic list. It is a field of life where karma, attention, and experience collect. The 4th house is not only “home”; it is the inner seat, mother, emotional grounding, and the place where the mind can settle. The 10th house is not only “career”; it is visibility, responsibility, public karma, and the work you are known for.
When a graha sits in a house, it brings that graha’s agenda into that part of life. When a house ruler goes somewhere else, it carries the house topic into another area of the chart. This is one of the simplest ways to move from isolated meanings into real interpretation.
How To Read Houses
Start with the Ascendant. The Ascendant sets the houses, and the houses show where each part of life unfolds. Then ask what planets are in the house, where the house ruler is placed, what aspects the house receives, and whether dashas or transits are activating it.
A strong house theme usually shows up more than once. If the house, ruler, planets, dasha, and transits all point to the same topic, that is when the interpretation becomes more grounded and useful.
What To Notice In Real Life
Houses are where astrology becomes concrete. It is one thing to say a planet has a certain quality. It is much more useful to see where that quality lands: family, money, home, creativity, health, partnership, transformation, teaching, career, community, or spiritual life. The house brings the symbol into the places where you actually live your life.
